Automatic Emailing of Files with Product Purchase

Feature added in Nov, 2025 to the site.

If customer orders X product, in the Thank you email to the customer, they can get a link to a file (or set of files), like Parts and Instruction manuals.

This is done with an app called Alva Digital Downloads.  You'll find it in the list of apps on the backend of the Shopify site.

Click on the App name in the list of installed apps on the store.

Click on Products to see products that have this set up.

Click on Files to see files that are going to be sent out.  This is NOT the same file as the one already linked on the product page so if you change the Parts manual, you have to change it in two places.

Click on Orders to see a list of orders where this email has been sent.

On the Settings page

Click on Edit Email Template to edit the email that's sent to customers.

On the settings page, you can edit other things, like how long the link will work for (it's set to 10000 minutes, about 7 days right now) and how many times they can use the link, etc.
